Previously, we interviewed Seburo Arthur from Singapore, this round the SPS decides to take the paintball insights to another level. "Gungho" Paul as many calls him is the founder of the Asia Pacific Paintball Federation (APPBF), Paintball Asia League Series (PALS) and the Malaysia Paintball Official Circuit (MPOC). He is also the founder of the famous World Cup Asia (WCA) which saw the participation of up to 120 over teams from across the Asia region. Having been in the paintball business for more than 10 years, the SPS decides to interview Paul and ask him for an overview of his perspective of paintball in Singapore and unveil how the Gungho sees development for Singapore.

1) You have been instrumental to the development of paintball in Asia and some even call you the Gungho daddy for Asia paintball. What do you think of this title?
Hahaha...there are always people claiming to be father of this and that.I would, like any paintballer, love to leave my own little bit of legacy for the sport. At the end of the day,we do what we think is right and our peers judge in the way they see fit in accordance to their own views.
2) You are the founder of the APPBF and PALS series. Can you tell us more about the APPBF and the PALS series?
Quite a long answer..gulp. Can they refer to our site instead? They are in essence to bond the region together for the purpose of providing an international tournament structure for the regional players and link us to our peers from the other regions such as the USA, Europe, Africa and South America.
3) We heard that PALS is going to China next year. Tell us how much money did you pay the authorities? seriously... how did you make that happen?
The China event is purely the work of the PALS-China guys.I can imagine that it was a lot of hard work. PALS was there when they put in the request. Our pledge of full support was given without condition. Kudos to the 2 Mikes.
4) We were told that you will be visiting our casino during the SPS in October. Tell us how true is this information?
Been reading all about card counting and keen to try out the technique on the tables. Must bring back some foreign currency to boost the Malaysian economy...haha..or contribute to Singapore's. Seriously,I am not the gambling type...I like to win too much and can't stand losing.
5) What do you hope to see in the SPS?
Hope to see things go smooth for you guys and that your efforts are recognized because in my mind... you all have done it the right way. The planning has been careful and long term enough. Thumbs up.
6) How do you see Singapore paintball as compared to regional paintball teams in Asia?
Singapore's top teams are up there with the rest of the region but it has taken a while because of your marker restrictions. It could have been faster and it would be nice to see the transition of the lower division Singapore ballers be faster from here on if the marker matters can be resolved.
7) Will we see a PALS Singapore in the future?
I have no doubt at all and I hope that it will be sooner rather than later.
8) Tell us more about MPOC as an affiliated league to the SPS as we know you are a strong supporter of the SPS and our earlier version of the SPNS.
The MPOC is the 1st league to be formed in Malaysia and the SPNS/SPS is the first for Singapore. The goals and vision of both leagues are similar hence the affiliation. I feel strongly for those who have the courage and conviction to make that pioneering move for their country.
9) Do you think that Singapore teams are too "honest", "humble" and "adventurous"?
Yes and it is all good. There can never be too much of those qualities.
10) Last words for Singapore paintball?
Move forward with courage for you are on the right track. Cheers.
